If you’ve never tried growing dahlias from seed, we highly recommend it! It’s such an exciting process to see what each plant will look like. Making them ideal for those who enjoy surprises ans diversity in their garden.
 
Dahlia tubers are clones of the parent plant, producing identical blooms. Seeds, however, are the result of cross pollination, leading to unpredictable and unique flowers. Tubers are ideal for consistency, while seeds are perfect for creating new varieties.
 
All seeds were open pollinated and harvested from our own dahlia fields.
 
Growing Instructions
• Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last frost date. For example, in Ottawa, we begin in mid-April.
• Sow seeds in 72-cell trays and use heat mats and grow lights for optimal results.
• When transplanting, plant seedlings deep, leaving just the leaves exposed.
• Space plants 6–9 inches apart in full sun (minimum 6 hours daily) for the best blooms
