 Dahlia Growing 101

 

There is a dahlia craze spreading and for good reason. Dahlias are among the most beautiful cut flowers you can grow!!! They are my personal favourite.

 

I’ve created a workshop specific all about growing this beautiful flower.  This will be good for novice as well as intermediate gardeners, we will cover the basics and dig deep into all thing’s dahlias.

In this class, I will teach you how to plant, stake, cut and care for dahlias, how to store and divide tubers, and I will share what my favorite varieties are for cutting. My favourite place to source tubers. We will also take a walk through the gardens and explain our set up. 

 

 

Here’s what you’ll learn:

1.      Preparing your garden beds for planting.

2.     Spacing, depth, pinching, fertilizing, support, and watering for healthy, productive plants.

3.     Strategies for pests and disease.

4.    Harvesting and caring for cut dahlias.

5.     How to source the best dahlia tubers, and how to tell if they are viable.

6.    A brief introduction to taking cuttings and more.
